Sira Ladi
Sira Ladi, “the one who shows the way” in Bambara, is an incense altar made of three elements: a perforated chimney above a drawer for burning, and two brass-inlaid benches. Their arrangement creates a shared space, an invitation to sit, to slow down, to let the scent settle.
The piece pays tribute to AlUla's historic role as a stop on the Incense Route: a place of passage, rest and exchange between civilisations. The brass inlays recall the traces left by centuries of trade and encounter. Designed during a residency in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, Sira Ladi gives form to an intimate, ritual gesture, universal in its simplicity.
