Tanyè
Tanyè, meaning “perseverance” in Bambara, gives form to the quiet strength that keeps us going despite obstacles. Its three legs tell the story: the first hesitates, the second insists, the third breaks through the top. Each attempt stays visible, and each failure becomes a step towards success. The piece asks you to see the beauty of the process as much as the result.
Designed and first shown for Dak'Art 2024, the Dakar Biennale of Contemporary African Art, Tanyè belongs to a series of pieces that turn abstract ideas into physical form, taking design beyond function and into story.
