Paul Ledron named in Forbes Afrique’s 2024 Top 30 Under 30

Paul Ledron nommé parmi les Top 30 Under 30 de Forbes Afrique 2024

Paul Ledron is among the names on Forbes Afrique’s 2024 Top 30 Under 30, in the Art, Culture and Entrepreneurship category. The distinction recognises his path and his contribution to the growth of contemporary design in Côte d’Ivoire and across the continent.

A path in a few steps

It all began in 2021, when Paul Moustapha Ledron was selected for the Young Designer Workshop founded by Jean-Servais Somian. A year later, his first pieces, Teri, Otto and Fiyen, were shown at the Fondation Donwahi in Abidjan.

2023 was the year of Paris: Paris Design Week, an exhibition with Birimian during Paris Fashion Week, then the AKAA fair at the Carreau du Temple. In December, the studio received the Young Creator Prize at the Forum des Métiers du Luxe in Abidjan.

In early 2024, Paul Ledron was selected for the Dakar Biennale, which marks the return of design after sixteen years, and was featured in the book Abidjan, Nid d’artistes.

What the studio stands for

Based in Abidjan, the studio makes art and design pieces in conversation with their material, their place and their heritage. It works with West African woods still rarely seen in contemporary design, such as the Amazakoué of Sédjan or the Yundé of the Oko lamps, and relies on the skills of Ivorian craftspeople.
